Clomid side effects...

In my last post I talked about the pressure down below. Well... in addition to the pressure, I have extreme fatigue. Especially yesterday and today. I fight to stay awake during the day. I don't want to give up and take a nap. I want to be tough! But I'm ready for bed at 7:00pm the last few nights. I try to keep busy so I won't notice my fatigue. All of this is worth it to help me get pregnant. I'll go through whatever I have to! Hopefully, I feel back to normal soon!

1st round of Clomid Treatment!

Well, I finished my first round of clomid treatment. It's only 5 little pills that help a woman to ovulate. I took the first one on November 25th. Up until yesterday I haven't felt any side effects. I thought I would react like Renee, my sister, did when she took it. She got very emotional and antsy, and had hot flashes.
Not me... I guess it's because I'm already very emotional and antsy. Yesterday and today, I felt a lot of pressure in my ovaries. Not a stabbing pain, but pressure. It's not too painful, just annoying. My sister-in-law Mandy said when she went through it she felt the same way. Good to know!
I've been keeping track of my temperature in the morning to see how my cycle progresses. I don't know if I'm doing it completely right. It's all over the place. You're not supposed to move or even talk before you take your temp. in the morning. Let's just face it... it's hard for me to stay still and not talk. I'm curious to see what the next month will look like.
Overall I'm very pleased with clomid... so far. We'll see how next month goes.

First Snow Fall December 1st, 2008

I took some video of the first snow fall in 2008 (to the best of my knowledge). It snowed all day! It's kind of fun, but the Florida girl in me missed the sunshine. Since then we haven't had any snow (unless it happened while we were sleeping.) But it has been super cold and icy. Thank goodness Marvin has been working from home. Enjoy the warmer weather there in Florida. I can't wait to come down for Christmas!

Marvin's First Year Anniversary Poem to me

I thought you might not persevere,
But married we’ve been for one whole year.
And so you would know I’m not distraught,
“I’ll get her something special,” I thought.
I thought there was nothing though, however,
That said how much I want forever,
To be the one that hadn’t thought,
A wedding gift I should have bought.
“I’ll make it right,” I contemplated,
“I’ll make her memory be transformated!”
“Something to make her not remember,
The mistake I made our first November.”
And thus I thought, and thought, and thought,
Until I felt so overwrought.
“I’ll get her a car,” it came to me
Shiny and clean, with a built-in TV.
Or a glamorous mansion, the kind she wants.
For breakfast in bed I’d bring her croissants.
Or a bracelet with rubies, and a pretty diamond necklace,
If all these I got, it wouldn’t be reckless.

And hence I scrambled, off to the store,
To buy all these things, and a whole lot more.
And I got lots of stuff and was ready to pay,
But the cash that I had would not go a long way.
So you can imagine my dismay and gloom.
When all I could buy was some cheap perfume.
And for you to even get that today,
I had to borrow your sister Renee.
I know it’s not a block of gold metal,
But this year l hope that you can just settle,
It’s small compared to very big thought,
Of the things I wanted and went out and sought.
I guess it’s good to always remember,
Each and every year in November,
It’s not the costs or dollar amount,
It is the thoughts that really count!

One year later...

Marvin and I have been married for one year today. Unfortunately, we are not in the same state. I came to Florida last Sunday to help my Aunt recover from surgery. Marvin is driving down here this Wednesday to spend Thanksgiving with me and my family. Then we'll drive home together.
This morning I woke up and I found a gift bag on my bed. Marvin had my sister Renee get me a gift and leave it out for me. He wanted to surprise me on our anniversary. Also, he had written a lovely poem. I will post that later.
I'm so grateful for my wonderful husband. He is so sweet, supportive, and kind. I can't wait for our 2nd year together!
I'm glad I waited for him. =)
I love you Marvin!

Birthday Party!

Marvin, Emery, and Leah all have their birthday's within a week of each other. So I wanted to throw a party for all three of them at once. I didn't get any pictures of the party, but I did take pictures of the decorations.
Marvin decorated the cake. Noticed how he spelled "Birthday". He loves to say it that way. He thinks it's funny. He always keeps me laughing. I love my Marvin!

Corn Maze 2008

Last month we went to a corn maze here in Dahlonega. It was really fun. I had some reservations about it, because as many of you know... I am a scardy-cat! But I had my big, strong husband there to protect me! =) We had a great time! Marvin's brothers and sisters came as well. Marvin would love to own a tractor so he can go around and do tractor-type things with it. So I took some pictures of him "driving" this tractor at the corn maze. Isn't he the best?!?!

Our lovely Kyra...

Up here in North Georgia it's getting pretty cold. Every morning Marvin takes Kyra for a walk. He bundles up in a cozy jacket, hat, and warm pants. When they get back I feel bad for Kyra because she feels cold. So I have her sit on her bed and I wrap her up in a blanket. She is so precious! Emery was helping to warm her up too.

Halloween 2008

We were so excited about Halloween night. Marvin decorated the porch. Before he put up the fake spiderwebs, he had to clean out the real ones. =)
But we only had 2 kids come to our house. I understand though, we live in the country. There are no street lights and our driveway is very long. The important thing is Marvin and I enjoyed the evening together! =)

I don't like birth control!

I've been taking "the pill" for almost 2 weeks now. I don't like it at all! I feel icky all the time, I feel lethargic and depressed. Not too bad, but bad enough. I can do it for another month and a half. I have to! Marvin has been wonderful... He has asked me if I'd like a foot or back massage, he tells me how beautiful I am, and he makes me feel like a Princess! I told him to get ready for when I take Clomid. My sister, Renee, told me when she took it she was very emotional and had lots of hot flashes. Can't wait! (please note the sarcasm!) Luckily the round of Clomid is only for 5 days... I'll take that in the beginning of December. I'll let you know what things I go through. Should be funny! Oh the things some women have to go through to get pregnant... It'll all be worth it when we have a sweet little baby! =)

What the Doctor said.....

Hey everyone! I went to the OB/GYN on Tuesday to talk about, what is the next step??? So he told me my blood tests look great. And he has no problem starting me on clomid. First he wants me to be on birth control for 2 months, then as soon as my cycle starts on the 2nd month, STOP the pill and START clomid. He only wants to do the clomid for 3 to 4 months, after that he wants me to go to a specialist (that's if it doesn't work). You all might not know, but woman can only take clomid 6 times in their life. But he's hoping that it'll work in the first month. Birth Control, along with 2 months of exercise and good healthy eating with increase our chances to like 75% or more! Woo Hoo! The are some risks involved with Clomid. When taking it, it makes you ovulate. Sometimes you produce more then one egg. So there is a stronger chance of having twins. I can handle that! I'll take whatever I can get!!! Thank you for all your support and prayers! Keep them coming! =)

Update on adding to our family... No, we're not pregnant yet! =)

Update... I've gone through some tests and stuff to find out why I'm not pregnant yet. My PCP wanted me to see an endocrinologist to talk about previous blood test results. My doctor has concerns that I might have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Synrome)... My sister, Renee, has PCOS and it can be genetic. I went to the Endo last Friday. She was AMAZING! I felt like she had all the time in the world for me. She told me, after we talked for a long time about my history, that I do have a mild case of PCOS. I thought that was weird. I never miss my period (there have been a few that were late, but they came), I ovulate, and all my blood tests are great. The Endo had me take the glucose test to see if my body could handle Metformin. I just got the results back today. She said my glucose levels are actually low, 80 fasting and 120 after and hour. Too low to go on Metformin, to help me get pregnant. So she suggested I go to my OB/Gyn to get started on clomid. I have an appointment on Tuesday. We'll see what he says! =) I'll let you all know too!!!!! =) =) =) =)

Marvin Loves Brenda...

Marvin has had the blessing of working from home the last 3 days, I love it when he's home! Today I had to go to the store to get some things and when I pulled up in the driveway, I saw his art work... It meant a lot to me, since I know how busy he is with work.
I love being married to Marvin!

When should we start our family?

I've had several friends ask me when Marvin and I are going to have our first baby. No... we are not pregnant, let's just clear that up right away! We want to start having kids very soon. I went to my OB/GYN for my yearly check-up. I asked him about getting pregnant. He said I could get pregnant at anytime, but he would like for me to lose at least 20 pounds before I do. So that's what I'm working on. Getting myself as healthy as possible before we get pregnant. I will keep our blog posted on my progress. We can't wait until we are blessed with a sweet baby! We love you all! Let me know if you have any questions! =)

Emery brought his big truck over and got to use his new crane.

Daniel and Marvin couldn't pass up the chance to help out.

Thank goodness for these hard working men. They got rid of our broken lawnmower! That's what family is for.

Vacation!

We spent the last week on vacation at Daytona Beach with my side of the family. It was great! Here are some pictures of our adventure....

Here we have the lovely Renee and the studly AJ.

These two were the life of the party.

Marvin knows everything there is to know about being a shrimp boat captain.

Here he is sleeping upside down...like a bat.

That gator was THIS big.

Our view of the pool from the 10th floor.

There were 2 pools and "lazy river". We got in trouble for trying to go in the lazy river without a float...that's a no-no.

There was a music ampitheatre on one side of the building. We didn't go there to see any shows but we did walk through the paved area on a scorching hot day and felt the sun reflecting off the cement.

This is sunrise...or sunset...most likely sunrise because I don't think we would have stayed up past sunset.

Dad and Mom...the bankrollers of the operation.

If you look closely you can see where Marvin wrote "I Love Brenda" in the sand.

Mr. Fix-it!

My wonderful husband loves to fix things. He and his brothers find little projects to do together. Manly things! In these photos Marvin is working with his brother Emery on fixing our lawnmower with parts from another lawnmower. I couldn't resist taking a picture. These men love to get their hands dirty =).

July 22nd, 2008

Hello our friends and family! We decided to start a blog of our own. That way if you want to know what's going on with us... you can check out our blog. We are having fun living here in Dahlonega, GA. Marvin is working and going to school and I'm enjoying being a domestic goddess. We are fostering a cute little dog named Kyra. We love her to pieces! She's training us to be good parents. We are not pregnant. We are going to start trying in November. We'll keep our blog updated about that. Anyway! That's all for today! We love you all!!!!!
